LOreal Miss Manga Review

When I first spotted L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara in Boots I was intrigued. A mascara that promises bold lashes and "mega volume" sounds ideal.  I also think the marketing campaign for Miss Manga is really cute and fun, it's obviously aimed at the younger end of L'Oreal's target market but that didn't put me off! It's not often (if ever!) you see a piece of makeup marketed using a cartoon panda and it definitely caught my attention!

I've tried and liked quite a few of L'Oreal's mascaras before - one being Volume Million Lashes which I used for a long time, so Miss Manga had a lot to live up to! I've actually really enjoyed using Miss Manga over the past week or two. With a few coats it gives good volume and length which lasts most of the day. I do find I have to spend a few minutes applying this to get it looking right, but once that's done the effect it gives is really nice!

One of the 'gimmicks' of Miss Manga is the tapered brush- to make it easier to apply mascara to the bottom lashes. I suppose this worked well, it was easy to separate the lashes with the thin end of the brush but to be honest I wouldn't say the finished result was any different to when I applied mascara to the bottom lashes using the whole brush.

Another feature is the '360 degree flexi brush' as L'Oreal are calling it. I don't really understand this, I had a little go at bending the brush and applying the mascara but I much prefer it as a straight wand. Let me know if you've got any tips for making this work!

Overall, I wouldn't say it's the best drugstore mascara I've ever tried, but it's nowhere near the worst either. It takes a bit of time to apply but once that's done the mascara provides really nice length and volume which lasts throughout the day and doesn't flake.

You can buy L'Oreal Miss Manga from Boots, Superdrug and most supermarkets in the UK.
